I’m a grad student, having finished majors in biology and chemistry and a minor anthropology. I’m now in chemical biology at Harvard.
Besides science, I have three loves: Scottish Highland Dancing (which I have been doing since I was 5), foreign languages (Spanish, Latin, and Ancient Greek … German is next on the “to learn” list), and photography. I have a love/hate relationship with cameras. I love them. They hate me. And I am consequently never fully satisfied with what I produce.
I’m a relative beginner with the camera. My interest was first piqued about 2 years ago when my roommate took a photography class. I didn’t start taking pictures seriously until about a year ago, and I finally got a DSLR this past Christmas. The camera I’m currently using is a Sony A300 with the kit lens. I’m saving up for a beercan and a wide angle (in the far distant future). His name is Thucydides, after the ancient Greek historian.
“I have written my work, not as an essay which is to win the applause of the moment, but as a possession for all time.”
-Thucydides
