I am a self-taught artist, born and raised in Oakland, CA. My influences are first and foremost everything I see, feel and experience, but I’ve always loved the “old-school” jazz musicians and singers in particular. I believe they have contributed so much in music’s history, that my interpretation of their likeness would be my own contribution in honoring the memory of their wonderful talents.
My work has been displayed at the 57th Street Gallery in Oakland, CA. The most recent exhibitions I appeared in were: “57 Faces of Jazz” – December 2009; “Counterculture: Celebrating Bay Area Protest Through Art, Word & Song” – February 2010; “DIVAS~ Artwork of Women by Women” – March 2010; “A Serenade to Mother Earth” – April 2010; “A Tribute to Jazz & Music Through Art” – June 2010; “Array of Artwork by Various Artists” – July 2010
