Currahee Mountain Sunset Banner by

This banner is made from the photograph that I took of the sky at sunset over Currahee Mountain in Toccoa Georgia – this is where the Army Paratroopers trained back in WWII and it was memorialized in the movie “Band of Brothers” with their shout “Three miles up, Three miles down!” I believe it is called the end of the Blue Ridge in this area. The sky was gloriously moody – dark, smokey and almost ominous, but definitely beautiful.

I took 3 photos with my Canon Rebel XTi, -1, 0, +1 exposures, and combined them in Photomatix Pro 4.1 using the Fusion settings, adjusted.

Dedicated to those WWII Paratroopers who still come to Toccoa during the Military Honors held every year.

I am The Accidental Photographer – anything you see here that you like is a product of my curiosity and creative mind, and the photography I have very much learned by trial and error. Please feel to critique as I have no other way to learn otherwise!

I’ve had my very own “real” camera for 1 year – and I’ve loved every day of them
