I took these photographs on a different pig trail than my normal route from Rabun County GA – this is on the road from Clayton through Anderson SC back into Georgia.
I took 3 photographs with my Canon Rebel XTi, -1, 0, +1 exposures, combined in Photomatix Pro 4.0 processed using the Grunge settings with High Smoothing, then taken to Picnik where I put a texture on it and adjusted the colors a bit, and applied the Mascara effect to enhance the outline of the limbs.

I like to imagine how these old places might have looked when they housed families. I can almost hear the laughter. Can you hear it, too?

So beaufiful even in its state of abandonment. It takes me back in time to a simpler way of life that now exists mostly only in memories. Very well done!
I know – I loved these old houses “in the day” when you could sit on the front porch in a rocker and string beans and wave at the neighbors when they went by…..
