The last shot of the day always seems like the best. This is Carters Lake in Murray County Georgia. It is the deepest lake in Georgia and has the tallest and largest earth dam east of the Mississippi River. It is one of the few “reverse” dams in the US – the water flows down the pipes inside the mountain to generate power all day, then the generators are reversed at night, pumping the water from the lower lake back up to the bigger lake on top to be used the next day.
This series of shots was taken with my Canon Rebel XTI using 3 photos with -1, 0, +1 exposures, combined in Photomatix Pro 4.0 using the Grunge settings, high smoothing, tweaked a bit. The finished result was taken to Picnik where the saturation and temperature was raised just a bit – then it was taken to PS4 to have the size changed.
