This is the house that my Grandmother grew up in and was built probably around 1887 or so. It’s in what we call “The Valley” or Nacoochee Valley, in White County Georgia. Up the road to the left is Sky Lake and around the curve to the right is the shortest covered bridge in Georgia, Stovall Mill Bridge.
I can close my eyes and remember the smell of the house with the old wood stove, the sounds of rain on the tin roof, and the comfort of the feather beds. MMM those were the days……
