Last week I decided to get another tattoo. One that i designed. I’ve wanted another one for about 5 years now, but always put it off, changed my mind, couldn’t afford it, etc. It just wasn’t on my radar. My last tattoo, which happens to be my only tattoo, was designed by a wine maker. It’s a wine label
Interesting story. I’m a wine expert, and I once came upon a wine called Anarchy. I kind of discovered it, and ended up recommending it to everyone. It became so popular, at my restaurant, and I bought so much of it, that the winemaker, knowing that I had wanted a tattoo, gave me the design from his wine bottle of the Anarchy symbol, which he had in fact drawn for his wine. Thus, I have an Anarchy Symbol (sans vintage), tattooed on my left arm
This one, Ganesh, is as a result of my yoga practice. Everyday, I practice in a studio, with a giant Ganesh, painted on the wall. I’ve learned to love it. In the middle of Tree Pose, facing Ganesh, I decided to get him tattooed. When I went looking for designs, that’s when I ran into problems; there’s literally thousands of them. Forget it. I’ll do my own.
