This was an Art Installation that I came across in a random alley in Melbourne.
The wall was covered with these mannquins hanging in nets for a good 20 metres.
I wanted to capture the repetitiveness of the piece, but I also wanted the mannequins to be large enough in the shot so you could see what they were.
I also took this photo from a number of angles to get a good tonal range. This was the best shot I took as the mannequins shadows present a good contrast to the white nets that hold the mannequins.
It was this strange Art Installation I came across in this random alleyway in Melbourne. They are mannequin’s dressed in pyjamas and nailed to the wall in nets. Very strange, but very cool.
Great shot and good story. Bizarre scene. I’m not sure what it means, although that’s not important. Titus could be close; some play on the origins of mannequins? I do value your explanations of how you decided to shoot only some of the scene, and why, and how you sought the shadows.

so that’s where babies come from… (this photo deserves an explanation ;)

Thanks Jan. It certainly is an interesting scene. I can definitely see the Stork-like qualities – like babies in the baskets :)
