Heather, if this is “playing”, I can’t wait to see what comes of you getting down and serious. There are so many ways this works for me. Your crop is perfect with the surrounding space giving the feeling of loneliness and isolation. Your use of dark monochrome with textured background is total neglect and gloom, yet the pink trousers and white shoes let us know there is a still a soul within. I also like your use of contrasts… the dark lower wall accentuating the pink and the lighter wall above leads me to focus on the darkness of the top and head, and that you don’t let us see the face makes her anonymous and that much scarier in that it could be anyone, maybe even someone we know… it’s almost like I’m afraid she’s gonna raise her head and stare me down!

What I’m trying to say is that this sends a strong wave of sadness over me (jeeze, I was in such a good mood before I looked!) which makes this very powerful art. Congrats for blowing BB away!
