Cadillac Biarritz Convertible Daddy's Caddy Must Have Been Moonglow by

The staggering Technology involved – - – Canon G11 compact camera – Wide-Angle lens (6.375mm) – shot in RAW format – PhotoShocp for post production and layer-management shading and such – oldwhatshername’s shoes outside the door – a magnum of champagne ~:0)

The Story – Short Version – see the whole at Hot Rodney Hot Rods site ~:0) – - – The 1956 Cadillac Biarritz Convertible pictured here is known as Daddy’s Caddy in our neck of the nape. That nape being the Texas Hill Country and surrounding counties. Heck! We don’t leave anyone out when it comes to good looking rides – even flat-landers! And let’s face it. This ‘56 is spectacular to say the least. Doesn’t everybody hear the strains of “Moonglow” sung by Michael Bublé whilst gawking at this bewdy of a Caddy? ~:0)

Very very cool! But what’s that on the ground?

  • Yes – difficult at this resolution (perceived distance) – they are stacked heels women’s shoes with silken ties – some sheila has taken off her high-heels and left them outside the car for some reason – It’s easily visible at full rez ~:0) VivaChas!

A G11!!?? I peddle my G10 in my bike bag and it’s captured so many important feelings. The G-line’s one of photography’s best kept secrets Chas. And you’re revealing it here with this snarly story arc. Lookit that color palette! Lookit the details that are sharp as a bad-guy’s switch blade! You’ve got a genius for communicating menace.

  • It is photography’s best kept secret – that is until now – But – Who cares!? – Ha! – - – Trey Ratcliff recommended it several years ago as a good entrance into shooting RAW – and right he was – a few too many buttons for me – I’ve had to develop a new way of holding the camera to keep from launching the Ray Gun, the Camp Stove or the Life Raft ~:0) – - – I’ve be shooting photos a long time – used about everything out there and the lightness of the "G"s is super – I see the “Real” photogs lugging huge juggernauts about and their photos are not art – they’re often symbols of insecurity or elitism – God Love ‘em – I’m just saying – there are certainly exceptions to my latent cynicism – please forgive that flaw in my character – I’m a work in progress – - – Actually, I would use something smaller still if it existed and I didn’t have to pay for it – Ha! – I feel the G11 costs more than enough as it is – - – Trey’s shifted over to a smaller camera himself lately – he saves his huge and heavy previously primary cameras as back-up now – while his primary rig is now a much lighter Sony whateveryoucallit (he gets no consideration from Sony for the usage btw) – - – I’m not rushing out for the Sony just b/c he uses it either – I’ve still got to wear out this G11 if I can – personally I’d be happy to use it forever – Thanks for the platform Ted – I know we’re brothers – me old man traveled a lot so there’s a chance of that – Ha! ~:0) VivaChas!

The Canon Gs prove that… it ain’t the arrow, it’s the indian. But this arrow’s damned clever. It’s the only small camera that’s still got a view finder. Whyzat essential? Because you generally oughta shoot with the sun at your back.. Which means it’s glaring directly into the camera’s rear screen. Which means you can’t see… sh&&t. Even if this did not have all of the facilities of the Canon top-of-line built in (well maybe not the full-frame sensor) that little view finder… parallax and all.. makes it the best tiny camera in the biz. PLUS… it’s made of solid metal so you’re not going to wear it out. I’ve seen early versions of the G sell for MORE than their original retail. Plus they’re super quiet so you can be totally candid. As for the lack of interchangeable lenses.. Well.. I discovered that I’ve got a substitute for them… I call the sub… feet. See I can move closer and farther… It’s an amazing thing. But… this is not a gear-head website, so… Bye.
