The historic tram sheds are a living, breathing, ever changing urban canvas and it has been an emotional journey to capture what lies within.
Update 2012: This area is no longer accessible. The site has been taken over by developers and the area is being cleaned up and what’s left of the trams salvaged.
Great image Sooz! It only took me forever to figure out what I was looking at on the left… A bit of an optical illusion there….lol! Like your little rhyme too.
It is an optical illusion:-) Such a large space and quite difficult to get all four trams in without having lots of foreground so had to go for this angle. I hope by awareness we can save the trams and turn the sheds into an arts precinct.
It is tragic Ginny. Some of the graffiti on the walls of the shed is incredible but the damage to the trams is horrific. Everything is ripped and smashed beyond repair.
such masterpieces…..I still can’t get enough of them….excellent. .Let’s meet there when i come back, then head off to Glebe after for a bohemian dinne or something. Date?
I would love to catch up. Lets chat when you get back. Hugs to you and yours. Sooz x
my all time mecca and absolutely beside myself when they decided to “redevelop”.
Me too but at least something is finally being done with the trams. It would have been nice if the area could have been turned into a creative space for the community. Though I doubt that will happen, it will be interesting to see what does happen. As far as I know it is still a historic site so I dont think they can knock it down.

Fantastic Sooz! It would be a great arts precinct. maybe the proceeds could go to restoration of the trams.

Great find, well captured.
Oh, I found a graffiti tunnel at the Sydney Uni! This reminds me of that! Love the work they put into it, you’ve captured it well!
