When past and present collide .... by

The historic tram sheds are a living, breathing, ever changing urban canvas. I don’t know how long they can survive the harsh treatment by the rain that pours in through a broken glass ceiling and the night marauders who creep in to make their mark.

This shot was taken in July 2010, Glebe NSW

Update 2012: This area is no longer accessible. The site has been taken over by developers and the area is being cleaned up and what’s left of the trams salvaged.

Great take on this iconic spot Sooz – I must make it out there (if I say it often enough I may just get there!) … graffiti has a strange appeal.

  • It does have a strange appeal. Sometimes I love it and think it enhances the environment and other times it makes me feel sad. The last time I went I was heart broken, so much more broken glass and physical violence against the trams.

I was told that when those Trams were originally placed in there they were in mint condition, but good capture sooz

  • I have heard that too Philip and am saddened by the loss of such historical treasures. Every time I go there I see more broken glass violent damage to the structure of the trams. I don’t know how much longer they can survive.
