In an old tram shed full of chaos and destruction, this chair captured my imagination as I wondered who the heart was painted for.

I have since visited the tram sheds on multiple occasions, each time discovering violent damage of the now fragile trams and new artwork adorning the ever changing urban canvas.

Unfortunately I have never found the chair again.

Postscript, I have now painted my own chair and taken it into a new the chairs into new landscapes and challenging the viewer to become a part of my new love story.

At the end of the day .. a chair is just a chair when there is no one sitting there.

For “Tram” an exhibition, Cherrybrook, November 2010

Update 2012: This area is no longer accessible. The site has been taken over by developers and the area is being cleaned up and what’s left of the trams salvaged.

Great art work chasingsooz. A different take from the tramyard. :-)

  • Thanks Rowena. I wanted to take a different view of the yards to you and Raoul, a social commentary so to speak. Hopefully I’ll get to doing an actual image of the trams sooz lol. BTW Rick is doing a painting !!! Out of his comfort zone too :-)
