Ponte Del Scudi II featured in Bridges Group 2008.
For the longest time I dreamed of a wild adventure in Italy. In April 2008 that dream became an extraordinary reality.
After arriving in Venice and ditching the mask making course we decided to book in for a photography tour.
Once our photographer ‘Ava’ warmed up, she was a delightful companion, taking us on a leisurely stroll through the maze of smaller canals while patiently explaining the rich tapestry of Venetian history.
The colours seemed brighter in the early morning light and the intermittent rain added a sparkle to the colourful landscape.
With cold toes and dancing feet, it was hard to juggle my camera and umbrella. Still, every moment was magical and every photo a delightful reminder of our wonderful adventure.
Ponte Del Scudi roughly translates to Bridges of the shield. and if you look closely, the windows do remind us of colourful shields protecting the inhabitants from the cold wind and rain that blew that day.
This is the second in a series of photos that I took of this small bridge in Venice.
