My journey into the darkside ...
The broken champagne glasses and plastic party plates were still in the minivan this morning, when disheveled and bleary eyed I managed to take my teens to school.
I am not normally a drinker and I don’t normally hold wild parties in my car but last night was no ordinary night. Last night was the opening of the Darkside Exhibition at the TAP Gallery,
It was a fabulous night and high praise should be given to Steve McLaren for organizing and curating the event.
Personal thanks also to my friends “The Spit Sisters” for organizing the in car food and entertainment for the ride there . Sometimes it is all about enjoying the journey as well as the destination :-)
Of course the diverse range of artworks on display at the exhibition were superb and all who exhibited should feel a sense of pride and achievement.
What I really loved though was the whole vibe of the room. It seemed to me that egos were left at the door and everyone was there to be supportive and encouraging of each other. Everybody was smiling and having a good time.
If you have the opportunity to visit Sydney during the next week, please do take the time to visit the TAP Gallery in Burton Street Darlinghurst. The Darkside Exhibition is in the main gallery downstairs till Friday March 20.

Wooohooo – nothin’ like one of Steve’s opening nights to dishevel a girl! (I notice he’s dressed up for the occasion??!!) Lovely collage Sooz – can even recognise most of the attendees!

Thanks Rosalie. I wish I had more photos of red bubblers but it was my proud hubby who had the camera. It was my first time meeting Steve. He is so genuine and passionate about artists and I can see why so many support what he does.

Rosalie is right!! Steve dressed up! Ironic! I was very pleased to see him at my opening night, last October, when he was in BLACK> (Can you get any darker?)
I’ve agonised and agonised but could not think of a real or pretend dark side!
Pity. I would very much liked to have participated. Would have been a little bit of an afterglow from October 2008. Gosh that time DOES fly!!

There’s no excuse Jo. I am the Mary Poppins of the art world and I managed to find a dark side so I am sure you could have too. Steve’s next theme is Rustry, Crusty and falling to bits .. or something like that. sounds right up your alley :-)
