Soft Landing

When the balloon flight was over, we were encouraged to get involved with the packing up process so that we could get to our champagne breakfast much sooner.

Everyone put their muscle into pushing out the pockets of air in the deflating balloon. There was much laughter as each new pocket of air appeared and we struggled with the giant orange fabric. In the end Don (our driver) put his who body into it – literally, casually throwing himself into the soft billowing fabric.

It didn’t take much prompting for our daughter Chelsea to also throw herself into the middle of the fun. In some of the photos she is almost swallowed up by the giant balloon.

This is a favourite though .. her face in the early morning light is pure joy.

Thank you so much Ginny. This is one of many fabulous memories that I will treasure in the Mary Poppin’s style childhood that my children have enjoyed.

I have never been in a balloon. We have a festival every year. The balloons are beautiful.

  • chasingsooz replied

You should do it Lori … it is a wonderful experience and each time is completely different. This was the first time we got involved in the packing up process. I never realised how robust the balloons were. Makes me feel a lot safer.

Am smiling at your picture (again). Good one.
So when are you buying a balloon for her to jump in, in the backyard?

  • chasingsooz replied

Today she has been jumping into the pool with lots of inflatable toys .. and that same priceless expression. She is a joy to watch :-D
