Bridge artist

Bridge Artist was featured in the Bridges Group 2008.

For the longest time I dreamed of a wild adventure in Italy. In April 2008 that dream became an extraordinary reality.

While exploring the many canals, we stumbled upon a plein air pastellist perched on a little ledge on the side of a small bridge.

He was quietly sketching the bridge and floating fruit shop that attended to customers nearby.

He was really hard to photograph and mostly he was hunched over, absorbed by his work.

The shot was taken through the bars of the bridge as we left him to it and quietly continued on our way.
