Canal of Dreams featured in The One Great Shot Group 2008.

For the longest time I dreamed of a wild adventure in Italy. In April 2008 that dream became an extraordinary reality.

With heightened, rich, vibrant colours canal of dreams creates an almost painterly impression of beautiful Venice. Canal of dreams is a personal favourite. It is a reminder of the adventure of a lifetime, the many bridges I crossed and the memories that linger on. I hope one day to return to my Canal of dreams.

    Thanks for the suggestion Ozcloggie. I have now added this to the bridges group. With strict copyright rules on reference matierial, my goal in going to Italy was to create a resource that I can use for many years to come. You are a brilliant artist so I am sure your style would be different from mine as you are one of those people who inspires others to paint.

    At first my hubby (and humble critic) was worried that I had turned up the colour a little too much on this one but I love vivid, vibrant colours so I did it anyway. The lovely surprise was that when I had this photo enlarged and printed – it turned out amazing and my hubby had to eat his words.

    When I have some time I hope to also create a pastel work from this scene. So much art to create and so little time …

    colour and more colour if we used that much colour in our surburb, people around here would have nervous breakdowns and paint it with australian federation colours(mustard yellow and maroon) stunning shot

    Harley – start saving now and take your own journey to Venice. It has to be the most interesting place in the world. Lots of small streets and tiny bridges, hidden cafes and exciting night life. I wish I could afford to go back.
