Time passes slowly

For quite some time now,
An observer I have been,
Experiences tinted by the
Glass of the mind.

For quite some time now,
Wandering through field,
Forest clouding the view.
My feet moving alone.

For quite some time now
Hands, eyes, ears, heart,
All limited by the misgivings
Of a second-rate mind.

Once, and quite recently enough,
Movement occurred in synchronicity.
Once, and quite recently,
The heart sailed the ship
To port safely.

And this time, its freight,
Pillaged by the tax and treason
of mind alone in control,
Found wanting and wasted.

And around this time,
The heart sailed away
With the spirit,
To wander with their
Damaged freight,
Seeking safe port
And finding none.

For the last time,
The tyrant of mind,
At port left behind,
To bear the burden
Of village idiot,
Of dictator conquered,
To seek meaning in crumbs,
While the heart sails away
With the spirit.
