Tiger prawns
Vegetable oil
Batter Ingredients:
1 medium egg
Plain flour (100gm)
½ tsp bicarbonate of soda
Salt to taste

1. Remove the heads and shells of the prawns but leave the tails on. Slit the back of each prawn and rinse, remove the black cord. Pat dry with paper tissue and store.
2. Break and add egg in cold water and whisk. Add flour, bicarbonate soda in the egg-water mixture and mix it to create a mixture with lumps of flour. Dust prawns with some flour and holding tail in the hand dip it in batter, then drop and fry into the oil. Fry till they turn golden brown on medium heat.

Decorate and Serve with tomato ketchup

:-) Mmm many thanks for the recipe – all your pictures of such lovely food make me hungry and wishing I had those plates in front of me, even though it’s only breakfast time and I don’t usually have fried prawns for breakfast!

  • Thank you so much for wonderful comments.
