i always just grab my camera and try and find something aroudn the house to shoot when im bored… 9/10 its all rubbish but sometimes i hit the money!

This is awesome. You’ve broken just about every rule there is on portraiture and managed to come up with a total stunner! At first look I thought your framing was annoying… you stopped just before the end of your nose, and I wanted it to go further to see more. But I realized it was just that which made this shot so compelling. I want to see more, so natch the left eye (your right), so perfectly placed along the diagonal from top left to bottom right, sucks me in and holds me there and yikes… it doesn’t want to let go.
And about the eyes… what I love is that there’s no detail. No iris, no pupil… just an open gateway to your soul. And I think it’s mainly that which makes this shot so stylish. Nothing about this portrait is conventional, but it is one of the most soulful portraits I’ve seen in yonks… very unique and deeply emotional. And the colors float my boat. This is going straight into my favs!

wow… thankyou so much… when i cropped it i had a lonnnnnng dbate with myself as where to do it and after replacing it a million times i decided on that….i also have a version that ive cleaned up made my skin look perfectly clear but it just lacked the character i think…..
