Slice of Sea Life
A Photoshop exercise I gave myself during a ‘slow’ time. A table top image of a slice of nautilus shell inserted into a scene taken in downtown Savannah. That’s a horse water trough for a carriage tour company.

Nice execution – looks as if it should be there as a sculpture. Love the reflection you have done in the rainy tarmac and tin bath!
Charlie
The overcast day certainly helped in the overall lighting…and the wet pavement begged for a reflection. Took a little time, but it was fun!

Y’all are very kind, thanks. I find the more you delv into Photoshop, the more you realize you don’t know and the more discoveries you make on the use of tools, filters, etc. Cheers!

Wouldn’t that make a wonderful sculpture
You’ve produced a marvel, Charlie!

This is a great photograph…......When I saw it I thought it was a sculpture in the street where you got your other image from….the one I purchased as a card. But in fact it was the other way around…...is everyone confused yet!
Charlie
THANKS Snappypixie…Yes…it is the other way around…the shell shot in the studio and placed on the street corner.

Well done, Charlie…you’ve combined a couple of favs of mine….the nautilus and the grand old city of Savannah! :) I like Savannah, because it leads me to beautiful Tybee….pure heaven! :)
Charlie replied
So….you know Tybee, eh? Well if you ever get down here again, please call. I’d like to meet you and maybe do some shooting with you…Tybee? Sav’h Wildlife refuge?
Leslie Battjes
You know, I missed the refuge, but my hubby and kids went one day. I’ve actually been in Savannah and Tybee several times and will definitely let you know if I am lucky enough to get down there again…really love Tybee…stayed right on the beach just south of the big pier!
