well I’m just another draughtsman/painter who’s been at it since I was a very young kid and now lives on his sailboat in Florida’s fine Charlotte Harbor at anchor with a one room studio in the middle of downtown Punta Gorda, Florida.
Been living by my brush and pencil since getting out of the U.S.Army in ‘69.
Most of my funding comes from murals and commissioned work with the odd sale of originals from time to time.
Although I do realism for hire my personal stuff is expressionistic or loose as a goose brush work with bold color games pushed as hard as I can.
I suppose that could be summed as the difference between being based on umbers and siennas or based on primaries and tertiaries.
Started the open figure drawing group in Punta Gorda and ran it for 12 years as well as taught figure drawing, painting, beginning drawing and held some art history lectures at the local Visual Art Center.
Oh yeah taught sailing (A.S.A.) for 8 years until the hurricane of ‘04 wiped all that off the map.
My passions are art, sailing, reading and having a few cups for recreation.
Like most my age I like real rock n roll (my definition), blues, jazz, & classical all played loud.
Adulthood is insidously creeping up on me against all my efforts to hold it at bay … just don’t seem to have the time to play like I used to think I had.
hmmm, well, I just spend more time playing with the brush or sails these days.
there is a little more on my website bio.
