Recently retired faculty member, Virginia Tech, Blacksburg, VA USA
I’ve lived here the the Applachian Mountains of SW Virginia for the past 38 years My interests are eclectic and expanding! I’ve lived, taught, and done research work for several years in cultural, medical, and health geography in East and Central Africa, and have traveled widely including Europe, India, Japan, Costa Rica, Jamaica, and North America. While I’ve used a camera for several decades, and have taken thousands of photographs for my research and teaching, my serious, passionate pursuit of photography as serious avocation and an art began only a few years ago. I’m a member of a local photography club, and am looking forward to learning from the many talented photographers whose work I’ve already checked out on RedBubble.
When I view a photograph for the first time I’m very interested to know the camera settings used, the lens used, whether handheld or tripod, and how much or little the image has been computer-altered.
