Wonderful. It would have made sense if my elementary school looked like this when they tore it down, but it didn’t itwas still in use and a cool looking old school, which we called the Witches Castle.I haven’t had the heart to see what they replaced it with.My Mom says it’s a cement block building and not very great looking. Now she tells me they’re going to tear down my high schoo, which is only 55-60 years old[at least it never was good looking]but still it hurts-because it was built behind where my one Grandma lived and when we were litlle she used to walk us around it and we’d count the broken windows and look for change, before I even went there fore High School-I still dream about both schools even though I’m 46 now. This is in Dayton,OH that they’re doing this.I live in Indiana now,but go back to Dayton to visit my family-a 3 hour drive. Just went there this weekend. Now I can relax again.
With very little Western history in Australia, these places do not exisit here. Perhaps a few in more recent capitalist history….or corporate history in large cities. So It is stunning to see that material wealth abandoned, even in Canada! But The Aborigines in remote communities, trash & graffiti even last months wares…sadly.
