I worked at Noccalula Falls in Gadsden, AL when I was young. I went under the fallls jumping from rock to rock down in the gorge. (Even though we’ve had a lot of deaths under there. It is fenced off now. But that big rock going up the side of the mountain has always looked like an Elephant to me.
I don’t think it has a real name, lol.
Noccalula Falls is in Gadsden, AL. It was at one time named Black Creek Falls. Later it was named after the daughter of an local Indian chief.
She jumped to her death when her father forbade her to marry the man she loved and tried to force her into a marriage he had arranged.
This year for the first time in a long, long time, we actually had a white Christmas. After some of the snow had melted and the roads were clear, I had my husband take me to the falls to enjoy its beauty after a snow.
