The title makes this a powerful image, and one I have related to.
Tell me – why did the title spring to mind?

Hi mark-thanks for your comment- the title soledad, ie. solitude (in spanish) came to mind as I walked the canals and captured the scene of this man. Solitude captured in a positive sense- i.e. the cohesive wholeness of an individual within his own surroundings as opposed to the theme of loneliness- which is the absence of wholeness amongst a multitude of people (at least that is my definition on the subject most of the time). It seemed to me as this was theme of solitude – a choice rather than a consequence.

Definately an eye catcher. Being somewhat new to this craft, this is one area I wish to explore and capture as you have so wonderfully.

thank you so much for your comments- it was a bit of an accidental shot as i sat there for about 10 minutesand this man passed in front of me and it just made the whole composition.
