I realise that selective desaturation has become a bit of a taboo among professionals recently, given the ability for the amateur to do it in-camera if they so choose. I still believe it has a rightful time and place, and used sparingly. I could not pass up the opportunity to use it here, to not only highlight the size of this magnificent waterfall, but also to add an effect to an already over-photographed image. A human element really brings back to reality, just how big this waterfall is. You don’t see this kind of grand beauty so accessible here in Australia, and not so close to the road!
