Somewhere between Sheffield and Launceston, Tasmania, Australia
I had spent the better part of the morning driving down from Cradle Mountain after spending an entire week there. Getting into new territory for shooting was quite refreshing, and I was keen to shoot some more “regular” scenes. This is one of the scenes that resulted from this attitude.
Getting it home though, I have struggled to process it in a way that did it justice. I turned it black and white, I messed around with the sky, with the whole tonal range of the image. It finally struck me that I had to vintage it, to draw out some of the intense colour that vibrated from within it. Processing these kinds of images is always a challenge – and one not always won instantly.
Location is marked as “somewhere” because I have no idea where I was. All I know is that I was heading to Launceston, and this was on the way.
