Cradle Mountain, Tasmania

If you want to read about my travels through Tasmania, my blog has a complete collection of what I shot and when, plus daily breakdowns of the crazy things that happened. I highly recommend you take a read, it will give you a holistic view of where – and how – these shots came about

This image has taken my breath away many times over since I captured it 2 weeks ago. I have tweaked it to what I believe, is the perfect harmonious balance of colour, form, shape and tone. It is gentle, uplifting and my highlight piece from my trip to Tasmania. I’m so blessed to have been here on the morning that this amazing fog event occured. It graced the left hill, spilling over so quietly and elegantly, taking up space beneath Cradle Mountains’ signature peaks.

Title of the piece is taken from the title of a favourite song of mine “Thing Called Love” by Above and Beyond. The song is about relationships not realised and forgotten, and that was kind of my relationship with my Photography throughout most of this year. I put it down to focus on other aspects of my life, doubting myself and my skill, when it was there all along. I just needed a good dose of inspiration, and here it was, right in front of me.

I feel recharged and ready to tackle more photography throughout summer, knowing that I never lost my skill and that it is still alive and kicking when presented with opportunities. I’ve just got to go and seek them out…
