Self-Publishing E-books

Posted 4 days ago

I’m just curious about how many other writers here on RB want to self-publish e-books, but don’t really know how to go about formatting them?

I hate seeing messily formatted e-books, and feel that it hurts all self-publishers when such are on the market, purchased, then denigrated vocally by the buyers.

Anything that makes self-publishing look bad hurts everyone’s sales.

It’s not like …

I was sitting there minding my own damn business last night, and…

Wolfe : I want to talk to you.

Me : About what?

Wolfe : My life.

Me : Oh. Okay, shoot.

Wolfe : Don’t tempt me.

Me : Excuse me?

Wolfe : The tree thing? That hurt, lady.

Me : Talk to your alpha about that.

Wolfe : She’s….er, your daughter.

Me : Your point? ...

Imagination is more important than knowledge

Connie’s adopted a cat. That’s him. Ain’t he cute?

I’m working on Rising Moon tonight, and it’s sort of slow going, but the wrapping up has commenced. Once it’s finished, time for edits, and then…maybe, if I don’t edited the holy heck out of it, it’ll be ready for publishing. Paperback in my Lulu store, e-boo…

Character Creation: Giving Birth when You Least Expect It

Posted 2 months ago

In an effort to get myself out of my current little funk/mild writer’s block, I thought I’d write an entry about how a couple of my characters came into being for me.

I’ve mentioned I have a couple of original fiction projects I’ve never gotten much done on, but have sort of slogged away at them over the years. One, Dark’s Bane, is around about a decade old, the other is about 4-5 years old…

Welcome to Silver Falls...

A small town with a very diverse community.

For starters, the Sheriff? He’s a werewolf, and shaman of the local pack.

The mayor’s a witch, the town dentist is an exiled elven prince. There’s gargoyles living in the sewers, trolls in the forest surrounding town, and every house has its very own brownie. Oh, and the all night diner is owned by a vampire.

Humans and non-humans co-exis…

Werewolf Formula

Posted 3 months ago

I found myself trying to figure out just how big a werewolf, or Wolven, would be today, based on a few of my characters.

The movies (hah!) show us that werewolves run bigger than their human alteregos, but my question was, how much bigger?

I probably could have Googled for an answer, lol, but I decided to work it out for myself.

Okay, taking three characters: Shady, Wolfe, and Bob…y…

Walls and Brawls

This entry brought to you by the House of Craze inhabitants.

I hit a wall on Rising Moon today, to my utter disgust. I’m on Chapter Six ( omg, I actually wrote an outline this time around! ), but now there’s this whole wanting to add Wolfe’s POV to the story telling, and he’s right on my damn heels every time I turn around, so I finally had to send him to the time out corner until I d…
