This trestle, passing over the channel that connects Black Lake to the Coeur d’Alene River in Northern Idaho, allows safe passage to travelers along the Trail of the Coeur d’Alenes, a 72-mile paved bike/pedestrian path on a reclaimed section of the Union Pacific Railroad between the towns of Mullan and Plummer in Northern Idaho. The trail follows the Coeur d’Alene River for a long stretch, ending with the 15-mile section known as the Route of the Hiawatha, a route taking travelers through 10 long, winding tunnels and over 7 high trestles. Absolutely breathtaking scenery!
