I like being able to see how the knot comes together. Is there symbolism in the NSEW direction colors?

The color symbolism comes from the Native American Medicine Wheel color associations for the primary directions (with North being up in this design). Speaking of traditional techniques, I created this first with paper and pencil and then duplicated my sketch in a vector program.
