March of Dimes - Signature Chef Silent Auction

An article about the March of Dimes – Signature Chef Silent Auction

October, 2007 Carrie was honored to be the featured artist for the March of Dimes Signature Chef Auction at the Hilton Regency. This is an exciting annual event that included a (black tie) gourmet banquet dinner prepared by some of Portland’s top chef’s, including the head chef from El Gaucho himself! Along with the fine cuisine, March of Dimes put on a silent auction to raise money for their philanthropy.

For this unique event, Carrie created a custom fine art series titled, “Main Dish” to perfectly compliment the special nights food centered events. Her bold and incredibly life like paintings feature a crab and lobster cleverly painted on ceramic plates which are displayed in a beautifully hand finished wooden shadowbox frame. The amazing detail she included in her paintings caused some viewers to believe they were actually photos of crustaceans adhered to plates! The genuine humor and creativity of her work speaks loudly. The curator of the event herself said “They look like they’re about to jump off the plates!!”

The event was a wonderful success for Carrie’s artistic donations, which was just one more step together with the March of Dimes efforts in “Helping Saving Babies” all over the world.

For more details on how you can get involved or the next silent auction Carrie will be participating in, feel free to e-mail Carrie directly for all the details.
