Currently Rented / Original Available $1200

24″×36″, Acrylic and mixed media (including a sand medium) and sealed. All of the color in this piece actually comes from acrylic paint. I painted it to look like mud or dirt and distressed.
(This painting comes with a black matte gallery standard frame.)

I always loved playing with mud and dirt and I still do. There is something so attractive about getting your hands into a mess!
This abstract work was inspired by the memories and simple joys of making many actual mud pies in real pie pans, which still makes me laugh to this day. The unique method I discovered really looks and feels like dried mud, the texture is up to a ½” thick in areas and you see many detailed patterns within the mud like substance. Real dirt is mixed in and everything is sealed for lasting beauty. It is very stunning against any wall color or design.

really love the simplicity and texture of this work carrie, a photo never does a piece like this justice.

  • Thank you so much Nasher. Your comment really means a lot to me. You are SO right…. I mean no matter how I photograph this piece it just does not capture the beauty and rawness of it. Thanks for your comment!!! Take care… xoxo Carrie
