Holding the Future
This work is about the future that is inside of you. I was originally inspired to create this piece while I was listening to a speaker talk about how God sees us. That He sees us in our completed form; that there is a future YOU inside you right now. He sees all that you are capable of and placed that inside of you when He created you.
In my work I am conveying a majestic, tall oak tree, exists complete within a tiny acorn somewhere in the future. It’s the knowledge of the future that is the key to unlocking it and releasing it. So be aware of your potential and Hold on to YOUR future.

Beautiful composition, Carrie! So many different dimensions of depth and time. I love it, as well as the silent messages it holds. I love the light opacity overlay that gives the work movement, from acorn to mighty oak perhaps? Nice Photoshop work pulling the elements of the artwork together.

Carrie, the author is James Hillman… the book is about our soul and refers to us all having an acorn inside us which waits till the right time to grow and a whole lot of other soul stuff – it’s good.
