A morning shot of the Grand Canyon from the South Rim with the Colorado River in the distant background. The deep color saturation and soft luminance of this piece is the result of a special Photoshop technique I learned from photographer Tony Sweet which he called the “digital sandwich”. My intention was to create a dreamlike feeling to the overall composition, which was somewhat my own personal feeling when I first saw this awesome natural wonder – The Grand Canyon.
this has such a beautiful, painterly feel – I had to check that it was a photograph. Most shots of the Grand Canyon are mostly red – it’s great to see all this colour! Would love to know more about the digital sandwich…
