My “Artist’s Statement” is a simple one: I am passionate about capturing and sharing the timeless, majestic beauty of our precious and amazing planet Earth. To quote the master French artist, Claude Monet, “The richness (of color) I achieve comes from nature,the source of my inspiration”. With a Background in Art, I love using photography to express and share some of the exquisite visual poetry that is our natural world.
What Inspires me: The myriad ways that natural light affects and transforms everything it illuminates has always fascinated and inspired me. Being in nature with my camera is an exhilarating, meditative experience for me. This is something I try to communicate and express with my imagery.
Educational Background:
I cannot boast of much formal training – I mostly learn by “doing”, with much of my
knowledge of the technical side of photography gleaned from online tutorials and
group forums. I took some Art classes in College, and I have experience with traditional
canvas painting techniques.
I am a graduate of the New York Institute of Photography, and an enthusiastic
Member of NAPP (National Association of Photoshop Professionals).
