I know alot of people into astro-photography run across different issues also when using a digital SLR for their camera, such as the sensor over heating.
But I’ve seen some even using point n clicks.
For the moon shot I took I just used a 300mm and a 2.X teleconverter. Works OK for the moon, but wouldn’t capture anything else.
Also seen they got specific camera’s just for astro photographers.
