The painted cliffs on Maria Island. These amazing cliffs, in the Maria Island National Park, which lies off the east coast of Tasmania, have been nature designed. Over millions of years water has been running through the sandstone and leaving iron oxide which causes these amazing designs.

  • thanks Michelle – it is fantastic,should have gone for a few days though. Timed our visit here half badly – tide was out in the morning so it really was out only opportunity – I think in the afternoon/evening light these would be incredible :-) xxx
