so many people have come into my life
so many have made promises that werent kept
every person i have met has made a impact on me
helping me create the person i am today

when i met you a few years ago
we both had the same goal in mind
little did i know then
how important the role you would play

you are probably the only person in this world
who has truely believed in me
helped me, supported me with nothing expected in return

we both know when i have screwed up
rather then you leave me hanging
you have always been there with supporting words
me knowing what you really meant
but within your caring way you reassured me
my screw up was going to be ok

you have been the only one to see the potential i have
you have been the only one to just help without a word
you put the tools in my hand to improve and grow
coaching me along the way

so many promised things they didnt keep
so many just wanted to use the alledged talent i possess
you have been the only one who just did it
helped me with nothing asked in return

i have admired you for years
i know what type of friend i have in you
it’s the best feeling in the world to know
i can turn to you, and you know you can turn to me
and there isnt anything expected from either
just a friendship to hold dear

even when i say thank you
for all you have done for me
i can hear the awkwardness in your voice
telling me it’s ok

i would give anything for us to be closer
so many times ive wanted to call
say cmon lets go, there’s shooting to be done

as i wipe the tears from my face
knowing the loss one day to come
i know deep in my heart
there wont ever be anyone who can take your place

you might wonder why i write this now
but i needed you to know
before God takes his best angel up above
how much you are respected and loved

when we lose those special people in our lives
so many times we wish we had the time to tell them just as we feel
what better time then the present
then to show our love and dedication while they are still here

you are my guardian angel
you gave me something i have always needed in my life
the support of what i am capable of
you have made me confident and strong
you have helped me in ways so many have promised to do
not asking for anything in return

i am sure im not alone
with the honor that i feel
you have helped so many
and im sure they feel the way i do

so i felt this needed to be written
just so you know
that when it comes that time
when i have to face life without you and move on

i will miss you when you’re gone
