Saw this tree covered in mushshrooms. im shooting macro with the 75-300mm lens, and as im figuring out my “perfect angle” this little bug comes walking across the shrooms, just wandering around
can you just imagine what it’s world is like?
to us, the mushshrooms seem so small, but getting down to the bug’s view of things, im sure it looks as large as the mountains do to us
dont know what species of bug it is, looks like a stink bug to me
and who says you cant shoot anything in the winter? :)

shot this with
SS set at 1/50 ( I was playing around with slow SS while shooting water)
Fstop at F5.6
ISO at 100
Focal length at 290mm
exposure comp at 0

The shrooms are kind of like a staircase for them! That is amazing.

It looks like a Brown Marmorated Stink Bug (Halyomorpha halys) or maybe a Mating Stink Bug, but it’s hard to tell from the angle.

I love it! It could fit in nicely in the pages of a fantasy book!

  • thanks lu, ill add that to my tag words :) and anytime you’re ready to write that book, just let me know :)

  • preciate it al, that tree is cool! i do have other shots of it, but saw some shrooms at this angle, and the bug pops out, so the angle had to wait awhile.lol

Thank you, Chris, for having an eye alert and sensitive enough to notice the “small world” most folks miss altogether! Appreciation for nature is a great gift and you certainly have it, along with the photographer’s skill to share it with others.
