this past sunday was riding in cherokee, north carolina with a couple of other photogs, as we were passing this constuction area, we were talking about it was a shame of how they tore up the land to build yet another complex. we happened to see three elk, of course had to get out and shoot. while we were shooting this buck started sparring with this pvc pipe, throwing it up in air, charging it alittle bit with it’s antlers, and stomping. of course while shooting this, i thought of the title for the shot, seemed fitting to the attitude of that buck elk, of which i have to agree with
thanks tom..and yes he was, i could have stayed there as long as he did shooting this, not something you always see, and it was already a treat seeing the elk on the NC side of the smoky mountains..thanks very much
great capture chris – is that a radio collar he is wearing..? well spotted!
yea it is maggie :( all elk in the park have them on, his ears were tagged also, on the females also. there is less traffic on the NC side in the smokies then there is on the TN side, they have to be able to keep up with their locations, and to keep up with their numbers
