Gisele's Crocus

this is a crocus that is growing in my yard right now, we have had some pretty warm temps for february around here and some of my crocus’ are blooming, this little flower only stands about 4 to 6 inches tall, i shot this macro literally laying on the ground to give an idea of just how tall it really is, i shot this using a nikon diopter lens attached to a canon 75-300mm lens, also..this is dedicated to Gisele since she is stuck with nothing but snow and needs a flower fix :) so Gisele this is for you

Awesome closeup Christopher – the golden yellow tone is stunning and that leaf in the fore is perfectly placed with fine detail. Great DOF.

    Lovely happy yellow!
Makes me look forward to the crocuses coming up in my garden in spring – it’s a few months to wait yet though! It’s high 30s celsius here today, using the heat as an excuse to stay indoors and play on RB!

Ahhhh, the first signs of impending spring! We too have had a warm winter so far. For the most part, Virginia is having a “heat wave” some days.
Back to the flower, I love the simple elegance of this image. Great capture, composition is nice and the focus is spot on. Very nice.

I must say, that I am just a trifle envious. You can look at your spring flowers, while I shovel more snow than I have shoveled in years. There is still more predicted for tomorrow and the rest of the week….Anyway, your crocus pictures are wonderful… Bert
