I love the reflection and how the ground is lit up from the fireworks and of course, the explosion itself is PERFECT!! Woohoo Baby!!

Fantastic work Chris! I’ve been trying to experiment with fireworks shots myself. This years the area I was set up in turned out to not be where the fireworks were. I got a nice street light in my shot, so I just packed it up.

This is fantastic Chris!! I love the way the green grass is lit up by the fireworks, which by the way, you have captured so beautifully!!

I agree about using the bulb setting, Chris. I haven’t used it very much, and have had mixed results. You’ve done a bang up job here though. This looks fantastic!

I just tried photographing them this year for the first time. It was a fun learning experience for me too.

Fantastic display and so perfectly executed….i use the bulb technique for painting with light and as you said you do have to practise but you seem to have conquered it alright!

beautiful shot chris. i like shooting fireworks as well. over the years, i found that i get my best shots using a remote shutter release and holding the plunger for between three and five seconds. it also works well in lightning photos. although it works better for night lightning shots, more than day light shots. day time lightning shots depend more on luck and being able to track to the lightning when it happens. again, beautiful shot. bob
