where did home go
over on the cherokee reservation in cherokee north carolina, they are stripping the wildlife of their habitat also, this elk along with two others, were roaming around the construction area. the buck even got into a spar with a piece of black pvc pipe. as i was shooting this, this was the only title that stuck in my mind that would portray the feel i got while watching these animals “look around”

Very Sad indeed!!! And you’ve captured their injustice of being robbed of their homes/natural habitat!! Well done Chris!!

We humans need just too much room and we never seem to consider the other lifeforms who share the planet with us …

progress is not always good is it
Charl045
I hate progress that imposes on our wildlife and the beauty of this land, all for the sake of the almighty buck. Thank you for sharing Christopher.

Great capture, he looks like a monster in size shot from this prespective, I agree with your feeling and the feeling in these shots, I lived in a metropolitan area for 37 years but then they started building in my peacefull valley. We paid $400 an acre for land which is now selling for $67,000 an acre, but we sold before the boom and moved 90 miles south to the end of the road in the woods, actually in the very edge of a National Forest. Long drive to work for my wife but she says it is worth it. The deer I once watched in a pasture are now, litterally, walking down subdivision streets.

We see the same thing right in our back yard as our urban sprawl continues unabated.

Pretty sad thing to see!

we are killing our planet, one tree at a time and making it next to impossible for wildlife to survive….when is it enough
anyway, awesome capture

It is a sad state of affairs when we wantonly destroy needed habitat

Oh the poor thing….... good capture..

You really feel sorry for the wild life when this happens. They are trying to keep open space and migration trails so this sort of thing does not happen. Great shot and this does provoke much thought and emotion!

I don’t know, the animals have some interesting commotion and they appear to have a lot of land. The structures being put up look really fascinating, unusual. I hope they all learn to live happily together. When I lived in big city, the sight of deer or wildlife (in zoos) would melt my heart. I live in the woods now and chase the deer from my garden, which they happily eat. But if it were all they had, I’d feed them, do that anyway, and they have a lot of open wilderness here. In any event, it’s a wonderful contrast of beast and man at odds. Well done.

Impressive and interesting photo!

That is so sad, wow. Great shot with an even better story. We need to stop, look and listen to what we are doing.
