Mystic Kitten

For this work I wanted to paint a kitten with a little fantasy flair, rather than just a common image of a kitten sitting in a basket. I did this work completely in Photoshop. I looked at many pictures of kittens for reference before working on this because I hadn’t painted many animals before.

awww… man… i love this.. love the colors.. the fur looks really nice and soft and fluffy.. i think it’ll be cuter if the pupils are a lil more enlarged.. this is beautiful!

Oh my goodness, how adoarble is this? The way his little tail curls is wonderful and the softness of his fur just makes me want to reach out and cuddle him. I really like the length of his ears too, they help to make the cat look more fantastical and fairy-tale like, which is very appealing. There is a great sense of depth to the shading and shadows too, and the pattern on the lamp is pretty without being too distractive. A lovely image.
