إذا الشعب يوما أراد الحياة فلا بد أن يستجيب القدر
from the Tunisian poet Abu El kassem El Shabbi Literally meaning:
“if the people ask for Life, their Fate will respond to their call.” Which basically means if the people fight for and demand life and freedom, their fate or their destiny will have to respond to their call.
His poems appeared in the most prestigious Tunisian and Middle-Eastern reviews. His poem “To the tyrants of the world” became a popular slogan chant during the 2011 Tunisian and subsequently Egyptian demonstrations.
