Sago curls on parade

Celeste Mookherjee

Long Beach, United States

Artist's Description

I was delighted one morning to discover that the very thick clump of sago palms in the Japanese garden section of my favorite botanical garden had been well thinned and trimmed. Original placards were now visible and revealed the planting date (November 1988). Best of all from my standpoint was the wealth of beautiful, curly young growth suddenly within much easier reach of my lens. (Zuiko 50mm macro, f/6.3, 1/125 sec., ISO 400, open shade with backlight from filtered morning sun, handheld)
