Golden daffodil by Celeste Mookherjee

This is an early spring daffodil from a previous year, one that I wanted to present in a romanticized way. I composed with a square format in mind, which means that this image will not fill the standard greeting card format (although it looks great as a print). I and others have asked Redbubble to add square greeting cards, but there seems to be no interest. (Olympus E-510 & Zuiko 50mm, f/2.8, 1/200 sec., handheld, post-processing limited to local sharpening along the front edges of the daffodil’s trumpet.)

That is a very brazen blast of colour! Celeste having fun.

  • Ah but I always have fun with my flowers! :) It’s interesting how we all react differently to colors, as this flower to me is gentle in its softness, and yet I can understand your reacting to the color as brazen. I relate strongly to all the sun colors (yellow, orange, red), finding them cheerful, optimistic and uplifting.

Yes. I think that I was influenced in my choice of adjective by the trumpet-like shape of the – well, the trumpet! :)
